If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or legal entity, you represent that you have the legal authority to do so.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Creating an Account
To access certain features of the Services (including the Dashboard, builds, and distribution), you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Keep your account credentials (email and password) confidential
- Notify us immediately at contact@desktopr.app of any unauthorized use of your account
- Be solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
3.2 Account Security

3.3 One Account per User
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, each user may maintain only one active account. Accounts are non-transferable.
4. Description of Services
Desktopr is a no-code and developer-oriented platform that enables you to convert web applications into cross-platform desktop applications for macOS, Windows, and Linux, using the Tauri/Rust framework under the hood.
The Services include:
4.1 Desktop App Builder
- Configure your web application URL, metadata, icons, branding, and build settings
- Execute builds that produce native desktop installers (
.dmg,.exe,.AppImage,.rpm,.deb) - Test your configuration in a safe test mode before consuming a build credit
- Download your compiled installers directly from the Dashboard
4.2 Cloud Build Infrastructure
Desktopr compiles and packages your application on cloud infrastructure. Build credits are consumed upon successful (or attempted) final builds, as further described in Section 7.
4.3 Bridge API and SDK
The desktopr npm package provides a JavaScript/TypeScript SDK that allows your web app to interact with native OS features through a secure Rust-based bridge layer. Available modules include: app, notifications, clipboard, files, fs, window, events, globalShortcut, menu, network, autostart, badge, plugins, worker, and diagnostics.
4.4 Companion Application
The Companion app allows you to test your web application's integration with Desktopr native features before committing to a final build.
4.5 Code Signing and Distribution
Desktopr supports code signing for macOS (via Apple Developer ID and Notarization) and Windows (via Certificate Authority). Only signed applications may be distributed through Desktopr's managed distribution service.
4.6 Plugin System
Desktopr plugins are WebAssembly (WASM) modules executed by Desktopr inside a native Tauri + Wasmtime + WASI runtime. Every runtime is sandboxed and isolated, without network access and subject to configurable memory and timeout limits.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Services solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may use Desktopr to convert web applications you own or have the right to distribute into desktop applications.
5.2 Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- Infringe any intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret) of any third party
- Distribute malware, spyware, ransomware, viruses, or any other harmful software
- Build or distribute applications intended to deceive, defraud, or harm end users
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Services
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any component of the Desktopr platform itself
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Services without prior written consent
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Use the Services to build applications that facilitate illegal activity of any kind
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services in a manner not expressly authorized by these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related infrastructure
Violation of these provisions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Desktopr Platform
All intellectual property rights in and to the Desktopr platform, website, documentation, SDK, and associated materials — including but not limited to software, design, trademarks, and brand assets — are owned by or licensed to Desktopr. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership right in the Desktopr platform itself.
6.2 Your Web Application and Content
You retain full ownership of your web application, its source code, content, and all compiled desktop application binaries produced through the Services. Desktopr does not claim any ownership interest in your applications or their output.
By using the Services, you grant Desktopr a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, compile, package, store, and deliver your application solely as necessary to provide the Services to you.
6.3 Your Build Artifacts
As explicitly stated in our documentation, the compiled binaries and their build files are entirely owned by you. Desktopr stores them temporarily on cloud infrastructure for download and distribution purposes, but does not assert any intellectual property claim over them.
6.4 Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Services, you grant Desktopr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use such feedback for any purpose, without any obligation of confidentiality or compensation to you.
7. Builds, Credits, and Payments
7.1 Build Credits
Executing a final build consumes a build credit. Build credits are non-reversible once a build has been initiated. We strongly recommend using the test mode (via the Companion application or Dashboard test environment) to verify your configuration before triggering a final build.
7.2 Pricing and Subscriptions
Pricing information, subscription plans, and available build credit packages are detailed on the Dashboard and may be updated from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes to pricing.
7.3 Refunds
Due to the consumable and cloud-compute nature of build credits, build credits are generally non-refundable once consumed. If you believe a build failed due to a platform error on our side, please contact us at contact@desktopr.app and we will review the case on a discretionary basis.
7.4 Taxes
You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or levies arising from your use of the Services, unless otherwise required by law.
8. Code Signing
8.1 Requirement
Only signed applications may be distributed through Desktopr's managed distribution service. You are responsible for obtaining the appropriate code signing credentials:
- macOS: Apple Developer ID certificate (via Apple Developer Program)
- Windows: Code signing certificate from a recognized Certificate Authority (CA)
8.2 Your Responsibility
You represent and warrant that any signing certificates or credentials you provide to Desktopr are validly obtained, belong to you or your organization, and are used in accordance with the issuing authority's terms and policies.
8.3 Notarization
For macOS, signed applications are submitted to Apple for notarization as part of the distribution flow. This process is governed by Apple's terms and policies, which are independent of these Terms.
9. Third-Party Services and Dependencies
The Services depend on or integrate with third-party technologies and services, including:
- Tauri — The underlying Rust-based framework for compiling desktop applications (open-source, licensed under MIT/Apache 2.0)
- Apple Developer Program — For macOS code signing and notarization
- Certificate Authorities — For Windows code signing
- GitHub Actions — As cloud service used for builds and signing
- GitHub Releases — As an eventual alternative download channel for the desktop app
- Cloudflare — For managed distribution, storage, API, webhooks, proxing, mail routing and other general server-side operations, domain, static pages hosting (like the landing page), captcha verifications, network and traffic management and analytics
- npm Registry — For the
desktoprSDK package - Google Cloud — For authentication
- Bubble.io — For the dashboard hosting, authentication, client facing UI and UX, backend/database and conseguent data storage and API/server-side operations (we do not store nor can access in any way your account or any other passwords).
Desktopr is not responsible for the availability, terms, or actions of these third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
10. Privacy

11.2 Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes or discontinuations in advance.
11.3 First Build Notice
As noted in our documentation, the first build may take significantly longer than subsequent builds, as Rust and Tauri components are compiled during the initial build process. This is expected behavior and does not constitute a service failure.

14.2 Termination by Desktopr
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services, with or without notice, if:
